We are holding Ms. Mayer to a different standard. This is not about being a woman CEO- it is about being a data driven CEO. The data was telling her that a great number of Yahoo employees were at home but not working http://read.bi/YJozila. Perhaps Ms. Mayer can be a role model for leaders, men and woman, to have the courage to consider making data driven decisios. I think Ms. Mayer will continuento be a great role model if she does not allow society to define who she must be as a female CEO.

What if Marisa were a Man?
There has been alot of noise this week about Marisa Mayer's edict requiring Yahoo emploees not to work from home. When I first heard of this "no work at home" edict from Yahoo, I was appalled. I have worked on and off from home for years and encourage others to do so. This controversial and seemingly counter intuitive edict from one of a very small handful of female CEO's makes this big news. The message seems to be that in order to be a female CEO she must be a role model who allows people to work from home, take more time off after having babies, and not build a nursery next to her office if other employees cannot do the same.
